I can't post a photo because I'm at work, but Gothamist (yes Oppo, I cheated on you) redirected me to a piece called " !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ." The list includes the Challenger and the GTI, and I'm not sure I agree with all 7 choices. What say you?

Looks like value retention is heavily factored into the list, making it a "which will depreciate the least, but not appreciate" list.

I can get behind #2 and #7 in terms of value for money in 2014. The rest....not so much. And they are tripping over the price of an Odessy. They roll out the door for $40k+

#1: I certainly hope they're mistaking for the 2015 model because, before that, the interior was fleet special at best
#2: If plaid is luxury, I don't want to be rich
#3: Honestly, no comment here
#4: It loses almost $15,000 when you drive it off the lot and is like operating an iPad at 60MPH
#5: This should have been number one
#6: I don't know about the resale value here - probably high - but, akin to #4, it is operating an iPad at 60MPH
#7: Something scares me about last model run vehicles. Probably because I used to sell Pontiacs

2. GTI

3. Odyssey

4. Volt

5. Stingray

6. Tesla Model S

Fair criticisms all, but I love the plaid.

Yeah - difficult to find one at the base price (and who would want to own it?).

The Challenger is more expensive, has less power, and is heavier than the Mustang, so that's BS. No one buys a modern pony car for the retained value. The FJ is Toyota's only interesting offering and is obsolete. The Volt is a Volt. Nuff said.

Mustang now has independent rear suspension, can't remember for Challenger.

Hard to believe that manufacturers don't put it on everything except trucks and econoboxes.

As much as the Challenger is my favorite current muscle car, I really do feel like both Camaro and Mustang are better values.

Stingray and Tesla I do agree with.

I believe that the vacuum on the Odyssey is only available on one of the higher trim levels, so touting that as value makes almost zero sense.

And I honestly thought that the FJ was more expensive than that. I can't say how much I really thought it was, but I certainly would have guessed over 30k.

The new Mustang knocks it out of the park, I'd say Challenger second, Camaro a close third.

Just bought one of those $26,295 Challengers. Yes, it's a V6 so no Hemi. The 305 hp is plenty. Unlike the Mustang you can put actual humans in the back seat. Under the skin it's all Mercedes parts. I prefer the simple interior (2015 has a touch screen which I will not buy, ever). Overall it's a very satisfying car to drive.

And that's all that's required, that you like driving it.
